How an Exterior French Drain Works
We dig a sloped trench along the perimeter of the structure, line it with filter fabric, lay perforated pipe in washed stone, then backfill. Groundwater enters the pipe through the rock bed and flows safely away by gravity — or to a sump basin when needed.
